Michigan Catholic Conference established the Lay Employees’ Retirement Plan (LERP) in October 1966. It was created to provide a retirement program for lay employees of participating parishes and schools associated with or under the control of the Roman Catholic Dioceses of the Ecclesiastical Province of Detroit. Employees participating in the plan are not required nor permitted to make contributions to the plan as it is fully funded by the employer. The LERP is a Defined Benefit Pension Plan and a Church Plan intended to provide financial assistance during retirement years. This page is intended to provide active employees and retirees with necessary information regarding the LERP.
